When the next piece of educational content can change based on the student’s input or performance, this is called branching.
Branching uses multiple-choice options to not only teach students but give them different paths and make learning more fun.
If a student chooses the wrong answer or specifies interest in a certain sub-topic, then the learning management system may show appropriate follow-on content for that student.
Teachers use the Learning Management System or authoring tools to create lessons that eventually offer options that lead to other lessons creating a giant flowchart.
