Blended learning combines the modern aspects of digital learning with the traditional aspects of in person, instructor led learning.
Students can complete a portion of their assignments independently and submit them online. The other portion of the course calls for live, in person instruction. This course model allows for increased flexibility in scheduling and learning styles.
Students that would like extra guidance will benefit from live instruction, while the students who enjoy a more independent setting will benefit from the online environment. Together, the blended course model will not only enhance the students’ subject knowledge, but will also enhance their interpersonal skills.
There are some disadvantages of the blended course as well. Maintaining a split schedule, securing a physical space, and travel limitations could impact the success of your students and your course.
